Free Printable Toddler Cards in English and Arabic

By Mustafa Campwala · ·3 min read · Updated

I made a few simple printables to use with my toddler at home in Dubai. Most of them are bilingual, English and Arabic. They’re free to download, print and share.

All of them are A4 PDFs with two big cards per page. A dashed line runs across the middle of each page, so you print it, cut it in half, and you have two cards. They look best on thick paper or card stock, and laminating them helps if little hands are going to be grabbing them.

Want smaller cards, or 4 per page? Use the card maker at the end.

1. Colour cards (English + Arabic)

Colour cards with a red apple and an orange, labelled red / أحمر and orange / برتقالي

Ten colours, each with a simple drawing, a matching colour circle, and the colour’s name in English and Arabic (5 pages):

Colour اللون Drawing
Red أحمر Apple
Orange برتقالي Orange
Yellow أصفر Sun
Green أخضر Leaf
Blue أزرق Fish
Purple بنفسجي Grapes
Pink وردي Flower
Brown بني Basket
Black أسود Umbrella
White أبيض Cloud

You can also cut each card down the middle and ask your toddler to match each drawing to its colour.

2. Movement cards (English + Arabic)

Movement cards showing Jump / اقفز and Clap / صفّق

Six simple moves, each with a stick figure and a big word in both languages (3 pages): Jump (اقفز), Clap (صفّق), Touch your toes (المس أصابع قدميك), Reach up high (ارفع يديك عاليًا), March (امشِ في مكانك) and Wave hello (لوّح بيدك).

Shuffle them, pull one out, and do the move together. It works well on a rainy day or when there’s too much energy before bed.

3. Arabic letters ا–ي

All 28 Arabic letters, one big colourful letter per card (14 pages).

The full list of letters with their names, plus game ideas, is on the Arabic alphabet flashcards page.

4. Small letters a–z

Lowercase letters a and b printable cards

All 26 lowercase English letters, one per card (13 pages). I used a font with the simple “a” and “g” shapes that kids learn to write, not the ones you see in printed books.

Make your own card sizes

I also built a small printable card maker. Upload any PDF or a few photos, choose 1, 2, 4, 6 or 8 cards per page (big cards or small cards), and it gives you a print-ready PDF with cut lines. It runs entirely in your browser, so your files are never uploaded anywhere.

It’s handy for shrinking these cards to 4 per page for a memory game, or for turning family photos into “who’s this?” cards.

Printing tips

  • Print at 100% / actual size on A4. On US Letter, pick “fit to page”.
  • Colour printing makes a big difference for the colour cards. The letters and movement cards still work in black and white.
  • Cut along the dashed lines.

These are free for personal, classroom and nursery use. If you’d like a different set (numbers, shapes, Arabic words), email me at hello@mustafazc.com.
